A Cobden woman has been identified among those killed in a crash that involved a Swiss national, who has now admitted a charge related to the incident.
The deceased has been named as Glenda Sally Douglas, 68, of Cobden.
The collision occurred on State Highway 73 near Sheffield in Canterbury on November 19 of this year and involved two vehicles.
Patrick Keusch, a 32-year-old Swiss man, was arrested the following day and charged with careless driving causing death, according to police.
Keusch appeared in Christchurch District Court on Monday, where, through his attorney, he pleaded guilty to the careless driving charge.
As part of his bail conditions, Keusch is not allowed to depart New Zealand or retrieve his passport, and he has been disqualified from driving.
He is scheduled to reappear in the district court on January 16.
